What is CBG?

Cannabigerol, or CBG, is one of the 100+ cannabinoids found in the cannabis plant. CBG is a non-psychoactive cannabinoid, meaning it won’t get you stoned. It typically converts into CBD and THC as the hemp plant grows, but some strains of industrial hemp, including Jack Frost, are bred specifically to produce high levels of CBG in order to take advantage of its beneficial effects. Like THC and CBD, CBG reacts with the cannabinoid receptors in the human body, but each cannabinoid provides different effects.

What is the difference between CBD and CBG?

CBD (cannabidiol) and CBG (cannabigerol) are phytocannabinoids, or compounds produced by the cannabis plant. Both CBD and CBG bind to CB1 and CB2 receptors in the body. Of the two, CBD has been more extensively researched, while CBG is the "next big thing" in hemp products. Neither compound is psychoactive, meaning while they may have beneficial health-supporting properties, they won't give you a "high" or "stoned" feeling.

What does CBG do?

CBG binds to cell receptors in the body called CB1 and CB2 receptors. Your body naturally produces endocannabinoids which themselves bind to these receptors as part of the body's internal messaging systems. By using these receptors, CBG is able to produce its health-supporting effects.

What are the benefits of CBG oil?

CBG is good for supporting a wide range of health systems, including mood, energy, sleep patterns, and muscle and joint function. CBG, or cannabigerol, may also help modulate the paranoia-inducing effects of THC in marijuana users.

Does CBG get you high?

CBG flower won’t get you stoned. The cannabinoid in marjiuana that causes the drug's "high" is THC. The other cannabinoids in the plant, including CBG, do not give a "stoned" or "high" feeling when used. In fact, some marijuana users report that CBG can counteract the negative effects of marijuana in users who have overindulged.
